It's not only shetland ponies here at Duncree, my mother has pet magpie she calls Peppy La Pew after the Hanna Babara cartoon character.
Peppy arrives at least twice a day for a piece of dog roll.
He's not tame enough to touch, but he will walk along behind mum and often sits and waits for her on the verandah rail outside the kitchen window.
He has taken to calling his family with an "oodle oodle" and now there are three more beaks to feed!
